Lollipop Print x The Decider: From Concept to Cards

The Decider was founded by Michelle Ayres and Carol Vivyan, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, with backgrounds in mental health nursing. Drawing on years of clinical experience, they developed The Decider Skills, a structured, evidence-based programme designed to help individuals reduce impulsivity and build resilience, confidence and emotional regulation through 32 practical skills.

We have supported The Decider team previously with the print production of their handbooks and manuals, so when they began developing a brand-new physical product, they came back to us as a trusted print partner to bring their vision to life.

The Brief

This project marked an exciting step forward for The Decider. They wanted to transform their 32 evidence-based skills into a tangible, engaging product: a set of individual skill cards that would be both practical and visually appealing.

The brief included:

  • 32 unique skill cards, each with individual designs
  • A premium finish
  • A branded playing-card style presentation box
  • A product that felt professional, durable and engaging
  • Consistent alignment with The Decider’s established brand

As this was a completely new product for their team, it was essential that the finished result reflected the credibility of their programme while also feeling creative, accessible and easy to use.

Our Approach

Having already worked closely with The Decider on printed materials, we understood both their brand and the importance of the work they deliver. This wasn’t simply a print job, it was the creation of a physical tool designed to support mental health education and empowerment.

We worked collaboratively with the team to:

  • Advise on card stock and finish to ensure durability and quality
  • Recommend a coating to give the cards a premium, tactile feel
  • Produce a custom-branded playing card style box that protected the cards while enhancing shelf appeal
  • Ensure colour consistency and clarity across all 32 unique designs

Attention to detail was critical. Each card needed to feel individual, yet cohesive as part of a set. The final product had to reflect the structured, evidence-based nature of The Decider Skills while maintaining the approachable, creative style that makes the programme so effective.

The Result

The finished skill card set is a professional, high-quality product that elevates The Decider programme even further. The coated finish enhances durability for repeated use in training and clinical settings, while the bespoke branded box gives the set a polished, retail-ready feel.

Most importantly, the cards translate a proactive mental health approach into something practical and engaging, a tool that supports individuals in learning to “decide” how they respond in challenging situations.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful print production can help transform an evidence-based framework into a tangible, impactful product.
